Hammers Eye Up Gerken

West Ham United are lining up a move for Colchester United goalkeeper Dean Gerken.

The Sun reports today the Hammers are preparing a £500,000 bid for the keeper, who has impressed during the U’s relegation battle this season.

With a return to League One looking likely for the Essex club, a move away for the talented 22-year-old is probable.

Gerken is a product of the Colchester United academy and signed professional terms in 2002. He made his league debut two years against Brentford and has since established himself as first choice keeper at Layer Road.
