Newcastle paid then a British record fee for a goalkeeper (1.75 million in 1995 to secure his services.

SELSPORT AND SHAKA

Selsport signed Shaka in 2005 when he was 3rd choice on the South Coast at Portsmouth, he finished the season playing for West Ham United against Liverpool in the classic FA Cup Final. He then went on to keep in goal for Trinidad and Tobago in the World Cup finals in Germany.

To tie in with Selsport’s 10th anniversary Shaka has designed his own version of his favoured glove. The Shakawrap is a limited edition signature glove designed in a striking Trinidad and Tobago colour way.

Shaka at the 2006 World Cup in Germany v England goals from Steven Gerrard and Peter Crouch spared Enlgand blushes as it had looked like England may not beat Shaka’s boys with a poor display from Sven-Goran Eriksson’s England side as Trinadad and Tobago frustrated England.
