Chelsea Snap Up Turnbull

Chelsea have completed a surprise move for Middlesbrough goalkeeper Ross Turnbull.

Boro were relegated to the Championship last season, and it is understood the stopper turned down a new deal at the Riverside.

He has instead penned a four-year deal at Carlo Ancelotti’s side, and joins the club on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old will provide back-up to Petr Cech, but will have to battle Hilaro for a place on the bench, as it was announced the Portuguese keeper has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the club till 2011.
