This week we have had stock of the the new Adidas Response Pro which is the same glove that will be used by Petr Cech of Chelsea for the coming season.

The yellow black design has been put together using the mi Adidas concept which Cech has done to build the glove colour and cut of his choice.

After trying the glove on i was really impressed with the negative finger cut, again the sizing is a little on the big side as it was with the response pro at the start of the year. The brand new style features the latest Adidas Alround latex foam with MOTION ARRESTER which is Engineered cuts which act to provide additional grip in all conditions. So far feed-back on this technology has been good, many say the grip is as good as any Adidas latex in a long while.

The Alround latex combines the best grip and cushioning in all weather conditions tried and tested by the top players in the Premier league such as Cech and Van Der Sar.

The new Response Pro features an increased Punching Power Zone backhand which helps give a better and more comfortable punch.

Martin was able to give me some bits for the day at short notice which gave the event the finishing touches. He and Rinat sponsored me for the event and supplied with a black Rinat top and Rinat’s Gladiator glove.

The gloves were fantastic straight out of the packet; all they needed was a bit of dampening and they were good to go. They gripped very well and the gloves fit well. As with most Rinat gloves they do have internal latex which I’m not a fan of but in this glove is doesn’t have full internal latex, more like positioned nodules. Bearing in mind they were worn for a good 3 and half hours in which many fingertip saves and catches were made they didn’t wear that badly. You also have to remember I am diving on mats and it was a dry hot day.

Although it was tiring and I came away with a few grazes it was a great day and we were able to raise around £160 which will go towards building a children’s playground in the grounds. So it was a great effort to raise money for the Queen Mary’s Hopsital and S.T. Helier Neonatal Unit and I hope they get to do everything they were aiming to do.

Also Martin donated a football as a prize which we put into the children’s raffle draw which was won by a lady called Jackie who will now have a happy child to take the ball back to! This is Nikki below who I presented the ball to as she was picking up on Jackie’s behalf.

Martin donated the adidas champions league finale replica ball which retails at £9.99.

A big thank you to Martin and everyone at Great-Save who helped out and supported me in this at such short notice. I really like the gloves and I hope to see more of Rinat in the UK market.

OneSport were launched in 2009 and are stocked in a number of Sports Stores around the UK.  Their founder Paul Hider has created a small range of high quality, high performance gloves at a great price point. Last but my no means least is WarbyGK. A brand we’ve been admiring from a far up until now. As soon as we saw their range for the 2010/2011 season we wanted to add them to the great-save.com family of brands. WarbyGK was founded back in 2007 and has a growing reputation amongst grass roots keeper and goalkeeping coaches across the whole of the UK. We’ll have the a number of models from the 2010/2011 range available to buy in the next few weeks.

With all the excitement of these new arrivals, we are disappointed to inform you that we won’t be stocking the Kaliaaer range for the 2010/2011 season. As you’ll see from the announcements above, we love to support new brands and every brand we work with is given as much time and support that we can dedicate to help make them a success. Unfortunately due to a number of delays and delivery issues over the past 12 months we’ve decided to give them a season off. Ultimately delays in a product arriving with us means disappointment and frustration for you (our customers), so hopefully you’ll see why we’ve had to take this difficult decision. Hopefully by giving them a season off they can re-organise themselves and come back big and better in the future.
