Robbo Handed England Recall

By Martin Sanders • Nov 16th, 2008 • Category: Keeper News

Blackburn keeper Paul Robinson has been drafted into the England squad to face Germany after Joe Hart was ruled out through injury.

Hart has been sidelined for up to a month after picking up an ankle ligament injury in Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Hull City on Sunday.

Coach Fabio Capello has decided to go with the Blackburn Rovers star, who is now wearing his own designed Sells Contour goalkeepers gloves.

Robinson has shown some top form in recent weeks and he has been rewarded with a recall to the squad.

He made his last appearance in an England shirt last October in the Euro 2008 qualifying defeat to Russia, and will link up with David James and Scott Carson in the squad for the clash in Berlin.
