After Steven Gerrard saving the day for Liverpool late on in Tuesday Champions League tie agent Atletico Madrid with a last minute penalty and Chelsea losing 3.1 in Rome English teams were hoping for a better night in the UEFA Champions League

 

  

 

 

Celtic’s clash with Manchester United was the one to watch with the 2 British sides clashing for the second time in a month. Foster had little to do for most of the game but what he did he did well. Arsenal who were trying to bounce back from the weekends defeat to Stoke City in the Premiership looked short of confidence and ended up playing out a 0.0 draw with Fenerbahce. For Arsenal Fabianski started in goal for the gunners wearing uhlsport Cerberus Absolutgrip Moulded. Volkan Demirel the Fanerbahce keeper was a busy man in his Nike Mercurial Vapor Spark III, the stopper was busy as the Gunners were dominant and went close when Robin van Persie prodded his shot wide from Cesc Fabregas’s pass.

Van Persie saw another goal bound shot blocked before his fierce effort was tipped on to the bar by Volkan Demirel. The other game in the group sawDynamo Kiev 1-2 FC Porto.

 

Else where in the Champion League BATE Borisov lost 2.0 to Zenit St Petersburg Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu lost 0-2 to Juventus, Alexander Manninger who was in the sticks wore Reusch Goaliator Pro G1 Shockshield Fire Red. Lyon beat Steaua Bucharest 2.0, a Juninho free-kick just before half-time and a late Kim Kallstrom effort sees Lyon move closer to the knockout stages. The other game in Lyon’s grup saw  Fiorentina draw 1-1 with Bayern Munich, in goal for Bayern Michael Rensing wearing Adidas Fingersave Carbon. The other game in Manchester United Group was AaB Aalborg v Villarreal who played out a 2.2 draw.
