Hutton: I’m Sorry, Thomas

Tottenham defender Alan Hutton has issued an apology to Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen.
Hutton was involved in a clash with the Potters keeper that left the Dane needing stitches around his eye-socket in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at the Britannia Stadium.

“I’d like to say sorry and hopefully he comes back as soon as possible,” Hutton told BBC Sport.
“It’s a contact sport. Things have happened to me and I haven’t said anything about it.”
Sorensen claimed the full-back could have avoided the challenge, and that he was lucky not to lose his eye sight.
The 32-year-old was substituted as pre-caution, but is hopeful of being fit for Sunday’s clash with money-bags Manchester City after it emerged the injury would be not long-standing.
He told the club’s official website: “I’m very lucky to be honest with you,”
“If I hadn’t covered my face a little bit and protected myself I don’t think I would be sitting here talking to you today.”
“It could have been very, very serious but thank god I managed to avoid a permanent injury. I’m hopefully of being involved on Sunday,” he added.
