Reina: I’m Staying

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has dismissed rumours linking him with a move to Spain.
La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid - where Reina’s dad Miguel played during his career - were believed to be interested in the 26-year-old, but the Reds first choice has poured cold water on such suggestions.
He told Marca: “I see myself continuing outside of Spain. You never know, but I would like to spend a few more years in England. The plan is to stay here.”
Reina arrived from Spain in 2005 when Rafa Benetiz captured his signature from Villarreal, and the stopper is optimistic about Liverpool’s title chances.
“The team has not played great football, apart from the game last weekend against Manchester United, but we are on the right path. We are playing with comfort and that has allowed us to push up to the near the top,” he added.
