Whilst everyone was clamouring over Robinho’s mega move to the now mega-rich Manchester City, the goalkeeper market was relatively quiet.

Blackburn manager Paul Ince brought in goalkeeping reinforcements to challenge Paul Robinson, who arrived at Ewood in the close season.

Mark Bunn was chosen by Ince, signing from Northampton Town. The 23-year-old made 100 appearances in years from 2004 for the Cobblers.

Meanwhile, Everton filled the void left by back-up keeper Stefan Wessels by bringing in Carlo Nash. The 34-year-old has agreed a two year deal with The Toffees, who become his 12th professional club in a long-spanning career.

Aston Villa’s proposed move for MLS stopper Brad Guzman failed to go through after the American failed to gain a work permit.
